![]() The studio is in a good position to take advantage of the growing popularity of similar titles going forward. Ubisoft now has at least three free-to-player multiplayer shooters set to launch within the next few years. Don't worry, Ubisoft has confirmed that Ghost Recon Frontline will launch on both last-gen and current-gen consoles as well as streaming platforms like Google Stadia and Amazon Luna. The good news is that European players can take the game out for a spin starting on October 14 on Windows PCs. Unfortunately, Ghost Recon Frontline doesn't have a release date yet. When is Ghost Recon Frontline going to be available? It's going to be interesting how Ubisoft will make Frontline different from XDefiant and Heartland. Speaking of, players will have the ability to call in vehicles, auto-turrets, and even on-demand sniper towers as well. This might also help explain the different ways to win in the game. During each game, you will be able to switch from classes so that every team will be very unique and can be a game-changer. This means that the gameplay encourages players to find solutions to certain in-game problems. Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Frontline is a free-to-play, tactical-action, massive PvP shooter grounded in the renowned Ghost Recon universe. Ghost Recon Frontline is Ubisoft’s new battle royal game where teams of players are composed of different military character classes called contractors, you will play on a really big landscape with 4 differents biomes, 20 different places, and against up to 102 players simultaneously. Ubisoft Bucharest, the game's developers, claims that Frontline is "built on core Ghost Recon values". Ghost Recon Frontline will also feature different ways to win. For example, players can gather and protect intel, as well as take down enemies and interrogate them for the whereabouts of their teammates. ![]() The map will feature dynamic objectives and is home to several biome types.Īlso, unlike standard battle royale games, Expedition will feature players doing other activities as well. In it, players will team up in groups of three and drop in a huge open-world island map, Drakemoor. Expedition is essentially the game's take on the standard battle royale formula. However, for its initial reveal, Ubisoft chose to highlight one mode specifically. I'm torn between not wanting to rain on anyone's parade, and thinking this parade is stupid and boring.Ghost Recon Frontline is a live service free-to-play shooter with multiple game modes. Maybe this doesn't matter! Maybe every IP must now have an obligatory take on battle royale, and maybe Ghost Recon fans will be happy that they can now play a mode they like within their favourite fictional whatever. I like extraction modes and battle royale and team shoots and assault rifles, and I know this because I've already played several games which contain those things. It's an uninspiring name for what looks, at this stage, like an uninspiring game. The chances of me keeping the names Wildlands, Breakpoint, Heartland and Frontline straight in my head are basically nil. I spent several minutes during this reveal thinking Ubisoft had already announced a game called Frontline, but it turns out I was thinking of the similarly free-to-play Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland. Players can sign-up to take part at the Ghost Recon Frontline official site. With that in mind, the game's first closed beta test will take place from October 14th to 21st, exclusively for PC players in Europe. Ubisoft say it's early days for the development of Frontline, but they want feedback from the community as soon as possible. There will also be other modes, including quick arena matches. That includes an shootybang assault class, a support class who can build defensive structures, and a scout who can call in a mobile watchtower to snipe from. You pick a contractor to play as and can level up their skills with various weapons, and there are three classes to choose from which come with different abilities. The rest of the structure around the game sounds familiar. It's a fun structure for multiplayer shenanigans in those games. It's a little bit like Hunt: Showdown or Ubisoft's own Dark Zone mode in Tom Clancy's The Division. Once a team triggers the extraction, they will be marked on the map for all other teams to hunt them down, steal their intel, and escape themselves. Instead of a constricting circle, teams work to gather intel from different locations around the map before calling for an extraction. It features over 100 players in teams of three exploring Drakemoor island, but it's not exactly the typical battle royale.
